Upcoming Projects

#1

A debut collection, full of the betweenwheres of things. Within its four directions, the poems become a cartography of longing and belonging. The speaker is storm, a moonroad, the chiarscurro of light and shadow, and the daughter of a people who have experienced homelessness, and who have built houses, and who have made homes migrating from Germany, to Russia and Poland, to Canada. Between poles, between home and homelessness, between sea, river, lake, light and shadow, are man and woman, travelling ancestral roads and as spiritual wayfarer to the present moment, and toward the last compass point.

#2

Evoking life and childhood in Poland, Ukraine, and Canada, before, during and in the aftermath of catastrophe, an invocation from an astrological reading initiates these confrontations with suffering. Written as witness, the past elides with the present and speaks to the plight of families and children fleeing violence as borders are sealed, as overcrowded ships or rafts are turned away from shores, and as children are taken from parents. The work is a quest for connection between mourning, wisdom, and hope, holding hope in the sorrow and sorrow in the hope.

Versions of poems from these manuscripts have appeared in other journals and anthologies.
